I really do want to find something that would be desireable for my wife to do that she would like. I don’t mind helping her out sometimes as well when I have the time. I can deal with talking to people on the phone but I would always prefer to conduct business via email or web. I work in the IT industry with the Government so I have a solid understanding about all the technical aspects.

If a discount plan is desired and health insurance is unavailable or unaffordable, there are plenty of more reputable and lower priced choices available throughout the United States. No, but I’m sorry there is NO company that is. I mean, think about it, companies are run by people and people are in no way perfect.

Ameriplan is a business (maybe one that isn’t in the best spot light right now.) but with any business there is an inherent risk of not making money or even losing it. That’s not something everyone feels comfortable with which is why I tell people then you should focus on a job. So it’s not a matter of being cheap, it’s a matter of being honest with yourself and situation which is what you’re doing. On whatever type of plan you use if you don’t use the service you will be losing money. As I already said though this hypothetical person is very likely in the lower end of income distribution. Say they need some sort of procedure but can’t pay for the left over cost, then they lose the money that they have payed in for membership and do’t get their procedure.

Joining ANY company – even in the corporate world! Buying a house or a car can be a risk in itself, too 🙂 There is no way anyone can – or should – convince, or even try to convince, you one way or another. YOU need to make that decision – no one is going to make it for you. AmeriPlan has a very high profit margin on dental plans.

Compensation Plan

I currently work from home selling insurancem however I still have a boss and don’t get to make the decisions. I have become very spoiled working from home and love the fact that I can be here for my daughter whenever she needs me! I don’t have to worry about before and after school care. I made 100’s of phone calls and got 1 maybe, that was a no call when I got back to her a week later.

Even if nothing were to be done, the major provisions of the new Healthcare Bill will not be implemented until 2014. Until then, healthcare and health insurance will remain pretty much as it currently is. There is no “Free Healthcare”; however the new healthcare bill was recently passed by a very divided Congress.

But not being a telephone person or willing to entertain it doesn’t mean that a person is less likely to succeed or letting stuff hold them back. For me it was a matter of giving myself the option to pick and choose the things that I wanted to do. I just have to say that AmeriPlan is an amazing company. I do not think the opportunity is for everyone, but it is a great opportunity!! I personally have been VERY successful with AmeriPlan.

I just believe it’s best for people to get complete details to base their decision whether or not the business is a good fit for them and not just bits and pieces. I do realize that it will require an abundance of time, any business will. I’m not 100% sure if that was a small jab at my work ethic.

I am not a materialistic person, I really only want enough of the pie to support my family and buy my own house someday. If you have any specific suggestions for me I would love the advise. I have tried MLM plans years ago and got burned a few times. None of the internet based programs I tried lasted long and were just all pie in the sky claims.

I told her that I wanted to do my due diligence and check out the website. But I also began to do other research as well and, therefore, came to your site. Some teams provide leads, resources, training, marketing materials, etc. – and some teams do not provide anything – or very little. Researching the enroller/team you are thinking of signing up under is detrimental to your success – and again I state … this applies to any company, not just Ameriplan.

I was told that there was no selling involved (sounds familiar, right?). I see here where folks are stating that there isn’t any selling involved, only answering questions. Well, to answer those questions involves “selling”. Call it what you want, inoculating, informing, educating, whatever… It’s still sales. A sale occurs everytime you speak to someone.

I can tell that you’re very intelligent. You didn’t get angry with some of the commenters and you responded with respect. You have a very calm spirit about you and that’s commendable. You’re usually convincing them that they should have an interest in them. Read your detailed comments and found it very useful as I am considering joining Ameriplan. So this seems to be a legit opportunity for success….depending on how fitting the job is for one’s personality. I’m pursuing Massage Therapy as a career right now, and I just wanted something else that wasn’t too time-consuming on the side. You see, it’s one thing to want success. Everybody does and that’s a big “So What?! What produces results is when you are ready to Act on what it’s going to take to produce the results. With Ameriplan, I provide my prospects with the opportunity, the tools, the training/coaching, support and encouragement.

So let’s not make assumptions about me or anyone who decides against joining Ameriplan. Different strokes for different folks. We all have areas of comfort that we must go with.

It’s obvious that ANY business requires an investment of time and money. I found the $50 overhead the least of my concerns when you take into consideration what that $50 pays for. The biggest obsticle most people who work on the internet is THEY DONT WORK.!! I wake up everyday at 7am because THIS IS WHAT I DO…Just because I “work at home” doesn’t mean I can sleep in all day . I place ads on the internet EVERYDAY because without them …people dont know me.

Not everyone will receive their first promotion within 2 weeks. Either way, when you receive a promotion with us, it’s because you’ve worked hard to put business on the books and you’ve reached the threshold at which the company has set for us, as a GOAL. Our other promotions occur when our team members have reached their promotions – which makes sense… we’re being rewarded for training and leading the other Independent Business Owners that we personally brought in. I’m proud to say that Ameriplan doesn’t want that for us. They’re providing us with an opportunity to reach our dreams without the corporate rat race and headaches, and to get what we deserve. I worked as a customer service rep for a company a few years back.

MLMs tend to have a cult’ish feel to them. But one man’s cult is another man’s religion. Ameriplan may not be perfect but that’s not unique to them. Many good opportunities have their weak points. I don’t want to repeat myself here so will just refer everyone back up to my post dated August 13th, 2008 which goes into more details. So thanks for sharing & good luck on your exciting new career.

Many pharmacists are not friendly about discount cards. I had one before Ameriplan and the pharmacist argued with me about running it. He eventually did and I got almost half off my prescriptions. Because the pharmacist is arrogant doesn’t make it a scam. I do save $30 a month on my T Mobile bill which was a nice surprise!

This does not mean you have to keep it for an entire year – try it for a month and cancel if you don’t like it! Our lowest plan is the Individual Dental – normally $14.95/month, is now $7.48/month. This is why so many of Ameriplan’s members that use the plans become IBO’s … they are using the plans, see the money they are saving and want to help others realize the savings as well. More statistics … did you know that (before over 4 million people lost their jobs … along with their health benefits) 70% of the U.S. has no dental coverage whatsoever? That’s 217 million people … and we’ve only “hit” 2 million members of our health discount plans, and as Laura indicated … this does not even count our two new non-health programs which just launched last Fall. When I first started with Ameriplan, I bought leads and I cold called them and it was horrible!

I’m always looking to expand my portfolio of ways to make income. Unfortunately Ameriplan isn’t one of them. But as I said in my article and comments above, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be for others. We can all read here that obviously there are folks like yourself that are doing well. So its something that should be explored when you consider all the statements that have been laid out here by me and other Ameriplan folks.

I wish them continued success along with those who get on board and are just starting out. I’m sure there are many others who are quite at ease making calls. I talk much better on the phone when I receive a call ‘from’ someone rather than when I have to make a call ‘to’ someone.

I’m glad you really absorbed the information presented by everyone here and have made a decision for yourself. It’s okay to be skeptical but not to the point where you become blinded to facts presented to you. Either way, just keep in mind everything we’ve all said. So expect to work harder and not see the fruits of your labor right away.

Sometimes its a lot, sometimes a little. The common denominator with all of it is that you have to work consistantly, and usually ALOT upfront. Good luck finding any business where there is no investment of money.. Everything is not for everybody, myself included. … Do you have to be enrolled in the plan and pay a minimum fee of $50 a month to be employed with Ameriiplan or is that a scam that will take the money out of your bank account and never pay you. I’m sorry to hear you were mislead by this rep. Please keep in mind that like in every situation you’ll always find some bad people.

Now say a person on Ameriplan Dental needs some sort of service that would be $1500 they would still have to pay quite a bit even though savings would be good. They will still end up paying $550 plus a $240 annual fee. That same person on the insurance plan would have a higher annual fee of $600 but would pay none of the dental costs. With just one use a real insurance company sounds better.
